PRAVASI BHARATIYA DIVAS (PBD) 2004

The first Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) (Non-Resident Indians Day) was celebrated in India with great fanfare from 9th –11th January, 2003. The event was a great success. In order to sustain the momentum generated by the first PBD and to recognize the achievements of the Indian diaspora and ensure its sustained and productive interaction with India, the Government of India has decided that second PBD will be held from 9th – 11th January, 2004 in New Delhi. For information on the second PBD, brochures have been printed by Government of India jointly with FICCI giving details of the event and mode of registration to participate in the event.

These are available at the Indian High Commission and with the Indian Association of Ghana premises at Osu, Accra. The registration fee is US$200/= for conference package for entitlement to three day conference including lunches, cocktails, dinners and cultural programmes and US$100/= for non-conference package for entitlement to attend only cultural programmes, cocktails and dinners. There will be plenaries, parallel sessions and round-table sessions on various subjects.

The speakers for these sessions will be drawn from the diaspora. Please visit www.indiaday.org the PBD’s website for more information and registration on-line.
