PRAVASI BHARATIYA
DIVAS (PBD) 2004
The first Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) (Non-Resident Indians
Day) was celebrated in India with great fanfare from 9th –11th
January, 2003. The event was a great success. In order to sustain
the momentum generated by the first PBD and to recognize the achievements
of the Indian diaspora and ensure its sustained and productive
interaction with India, the Government of India has decided that
second PBD will be held from 9th – 11th January, 2004 in
New Delhi. For information on the second PBD, brochures have been
printed by Government of India jointly with FICCI giving details
of the event and mode of registration to participate in the event.
These are available
at the Indian High Commission and with the Indian Association
of Ghana premises at Osu, Accra. The registration fee is US$200/=
for conference package for entitlement to three day conference
including lunches, cocktails, dinners and cultural programmes
and US$100/= for non-conference package for entitlement to attend
only cultural programmes, cocktails and dinners. There will be
plenaries, parallel sessions and round-table sessions on various
subjects.
