Situated on the West of Africa. Bordered on the North and North East by the Republic of Guinea and on the East and South East with Liberia and by the West and South with Atlantic Ocean.

Ethnic Groups

There are about 17 ethnic groups divided into three language categories, Mande, Mel and others. The two largest communities are the mande and Tamne each accounting for about 31% of the population.

Muslim 60%, Christian 10%, Indigenous faith 30%.

English, major local dialects; Mande, Temne, Krio.

Unicameral Parliament (124 seats; 112 members elected by popular vote, 12 filled by paramount chiefs elected in separate elections, for five year term)
