India opened a representative office in Accra in 1953 even prior to Ghana`s independence and established full-fledged diplomatic relations with Ghana in 1957 immediately after its independence. At present the High Commission has staff strength of 29 personnel -14 India based and 15 local staff. The High Commission also looks after India`s relations with three other countries under its concurrent charge. These are Burkina Faso, Togo and Niger. |
