Procedures/Documents required for Consular Services

Registration of child

Legalisation/attestation of official documents

  • the documents to be attested in original together with a photocopy
  • the fee
  • valid passport
  • the documents must be signed in the presence of the High Commission officials at the service counter

Sponsorship letters

  • completed sponsorship form (click here to download form in suggested format - but note that the sponsorship letters can also be prepared in other formats)
  • the sponsorship form/letter should be signed by the sponsor at the service counter in the presence of serving High Commission official
  • the fee
  • valid passport of the sponsor
  • proof of ownership of property or accommodation
  • bank statement
  • salary slip or other proof of income

Life certificates

  • valid passport of person seeking the certificate
  • pension paybook (if available)
  • the fee

Death certificates

  • death certificate from the relevant local authority
  • Coroner's order
  • Doctor's Free from Infection certificate
  • embalming certificate
  • certificate from the undertaker confirming that the packing of body is in accordance with international regulations
  • the fee

Ashes/human remains certificates

  • death certificate from the relevant Local Authority
  • cremation certificate
  • certificate from the undertaker confirming that the urn contains ashes of the deceased person
  • the fee
