Brief History
India opened a representative office in Accra in 1953 even prior to Ghana’s independence and established full-fledged diplomatic relations with Ghana in 1957 immediately after its independence.
At present the High Commission has staff strength of 30 personnel -15 India based and 15 local staff. The High Commission also looks after India’s relations with four other countries under its concurrent charge.
These are Burkina Faso, Togo, Niger and Central African Republic.
