India opened a representative office in Accra in 1953, even prior to Ghana’s independence. India established full-fledged diplomatic relations with Ghana in 1957 immediately after Ghana’s independence. The High Commissioner of India in Ghana is also accredited to Burkina Faso, Togo and Sierra Leone.
The High Commission of India is located at No. 9, Ridge Road, Roman Ridge, Accra. The working hours is from 0830 hours to 1700 hours from Monday to Friday. For further information, please click the relevant menu, viz, Consular, Commerce, Cultural and Education.
India has Honorary Consuls resident in Burkina Faso, Togo and Sierra Leone.

Open House for Indian Nationals at the High Commission |

| The High Commission of India, Accra, will be holding an “Open House” for Indian nationals residing in Ghana, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone and Togo on Saturday, 21st April 2012, from 1600-1800 Hrs. at the High Commission (No. 9, Ridge Road, Roman Ridge, Accra). High Commissioner and/or senior officers of the High Commission will be present at the “Open House” for interaction with the Indian nationals on their grievances/problems faced by them.
Indian nationals in distress or facing difficulties which require the High Commission’s intervention are welcome to attend the “Open House”. |

Canadian Work Visa from Ghana |

| Some cases of Indian nationals being duped by agents in India with the promise of getting them Canadian work visas from Ghana have come to the notice of the High Commission in recent months. In all cases, the unsuspecting Indian nationals had paid huge sums of money to the agents in India, but after their arrival in Ghana, they either never received the promised Canadian visas or, in few cases where the visas had been stamped in their passports, they turned out to be fake ones.

Registration Of Birth Of Children Born Abroad To Indian Parents |

| Under the Indian Citizenship Act, registration of birth of children born to Indian parents is mandatory within the stipulated time limit. Birth of children born abroad to Indian parents living abroad should be registered with the concerned Indian Embassy/High Commission in the country where the child was born.
