India opened a representative office in Accra in 1953, even prior to Ghana’s independence. India established full-fledged diplomatic relations with Ghana in 1957 immediately after Ghana’s independence. The High Commissioner of India in Ghana is also accredited to Burkina Faso, Togo and Sierra Leone.
The High Commission of India is located at No. 9, Ridge Road, Roman Ridge, Accra. The working hours is from 0830 hours to 1700 hours from Monday to Friday. For further information, please click the relevant menu, viz, Consular, Commerce, Cultural and Education.
India has Honorary Consuls resident in Burkina Faso, Togo and Sierra Leone.

| India-Afirca: A Shared Future project, a unique collaborative project of the Public Diplomacy Division of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, is aimed at building bridges between the youth of two very diverse cultures of Africa and India. Young people across the two regions have been engaging with each other through contests, fellowship internships, events and cultural exchanges.

| Applications are invited from Indian Diaspora youth in the age group of 18-26 years of age for the following Know India Programmes (KIP) organized by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, Government of India, in partnership with the States of Punjab and Orissa:
24th KIP: 29th August to 18th September 2013 (Punjab) – Last date for submission of application to High Commission: 1st July 2013.
25th KIP: 23rd December 2013 to 112th January 2014 (Orissa) - Last date for submission of application to High Commission: 15th September 2013.

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2013 |

| As in previous years, Government of India, Ministry of External Affairs is organizing Kailash Mansarovar Yatra from 9th June to 9th September 2013. The Yatra is open to eligible Indian citizens who wish to proceed to Kailash-Mansarovar as yatris for religious purposes. Yatra shall be organized in 18 batches with 60 yatris each. OCI and PIO card holders are not eligible for the Yatra.
Last date for receipt of completed applications by Ministry of External Affairs from Yatris is 11th March, 2013. Yatris can apply online by 4th March, 2013 at the following website and submit signed printouts of their online submitted applications by 11th March, 2013:

Details of the Scheme
1. Applications are invited from foreign students for nominations to undergraduate courses in MBBS/BDS/B. Engg./B.Pharmacy/Diploma in Engg./ Diploma in Pharmacy under self-financing scheme for the academic year 2013-14.
2. Under the self-financing scheme, all expenditure in connection with the study and stay in India as well as the travel expenses, including international airfare, are to be borne by the selected candidates themselves.

| As India is celebrating her 66th Independence Day on 15th August 2012, I extend my warm greetings to the Indian community in Ghana and to the friendly people of Ghana. India and Ghana enjoy traditional and historic ties of friendship and cooperation. The strong foundation of India-Ghana relations was laid by our two great leaders, India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. The bilateral relationship has strengthened over the years and has stood the test of time.
